National 10 Mile Time Trial Champs

Wightlink/Offshore RT team riders Martin Piper, Sean Williams and Steve Taylor travelled to Newbury for the National 10 Mile TT champs last Sunday. With temperatures around 24degrees, the three were keen to see how there times compared to the fastest riders in the country.
Martin Piper finished 62nd with a solid performance and a time of 22m02s, being chased by top Mountain Bike and Cyclo- Cross rider Adrian Lansley (NHRC) who started one minute behind the Wightlink rider and whom eventually finished in 5th overall (and ride of the day in the authors opinion) proving he is also a top time triallist.
Sean Williams suffered in the heat and never really got going eventually finishing 95th in a time of 22m31s and Steve Taylor who was fortunate to get a ride as a reserve rider had to go off no.166 in amongst the likes of top UK riders, Michael Hutchinson (eventual winner and National Champion), Ben Instone and Stuart Dangerfiled.
Taylor's time of 23m59s placed him 135th.
Another great result was claimed by Billy Girvan (NHRC), friend of Wightlink/Offshore RT and regular competitor at the Vectis RCC 3-Day event on Isle of Wight; well done Billy for 21st place and a cracking time of 21m16s.
